EXCLUSIVE : The many foul plays that led to the collapse of building in Abeokuta + How sympathizers almost lynched Gov. Amosun

Yesterday, a sad occurrence took place in Abeokuta where a yet to be completed shopping complex collapsed, killing at least two people.

It was said that  the Governor, Ibikunle Amosun,  also visited the scene of the event.

However, Close sources made it known to us that the collapse was due to low quality of materials, non payment of labourers fees and rushing to meet the May 29 commissioning. This was revealed by some of the labourers who escaped untimely death.

 

Further checks revealed that Governor Amosun awarded the building contract to Iyalode Alaba Lawson, who also doubles as the chairman, Governing council, MAPOLY. It was gathered that she also awarded the contract to her son (Names withheld).

 

It was a dramatic day yesterday as Angry sympathizers mobbed governor Amosun and Iyalode Alaba Lawson’s son, and stoned them. It took the effort of combined police, soldiers and Governor’s security aides who fire straight bullet and tear gas to escape the governor from being lynched

 

Furthermore, Addressing journalists, Governor Amosun admitted responsibility of the dastard incident, promising to get to the root of the matter
