Earlier today, there has been news making rounds that The general Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church Of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has resigned and appointed a new person, Pastor Obayemi to be in charge of affairs of the ministry.
However, Sahara weekly’s check with one of the ministry’s spokesperson at the camp explained in details to us. He said baba only appointed the new man as overseer of Nigeria but he is still the General Overseer of RCCG.
According to him, due to the law which stated that General overseers in Nigeria should retire at 70, baba decided to obey the law and appointed an overseer to be in charge of RCCG Nigeria but he will still maintain his stand as the General Overseer of the ministry worldwide.
The church’s Secretary and Treasurer has also been changed and replaced with Pastor Funsho Odesola and Pastor Adeyokunu respectively
Meanwhile, In a statement released exclusively by the church to SAHARA WEEKLY, The main reasons behind the sudden change in power was revealed
”This is sequel to the new legal requirements set up by the Financial Regulations Council, guiding all registered churches, mosques, CSOs.
They have a maximum period of twenty years to lead their organizations. In retirement, they are not permitted to hand over to their families.”
