EXPLOSION AT OTEDOLA BRIDGE OUTWARD ON LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESSWAY

 

A tanker loaded with Diesel has exploded at Otedola Bridge on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway outward Lagos.
The explosion which occured around 0630pm on Saturday 19th December, 2020 happened when the tanker rolled back and collided with another Articulated truck carrying goods and a saloon, which resulted in an explosion.

 

About 11 passengers were involved in the crash with no record of death as at the time of this report.

However the rescue teams of FRSC, Lagos Fire service, LASEMA are already at the scene of the inferno which has not resulted in any loss of life at the moment.

Th rescue team of Lagos Fire service are already making frantic effort at extinguishing the fire while FRSC and other traffic Management team are on ground controlling traffic flow.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.

The Sector Commander CC Olusegun Ogungbemide advises motorists especially articulated Drivers and Owners to put their vehicles in proper shape and maintain minimum safety standard.

 

All motoring public are implored to be more vigilant while using the road especially during this festive period.
The command has directed the operatives to arrest all vehicles that are not fit to be on our roads. Drive safe stay safe.
