EXTRAJUDICIAL KILLINGS: OGUN GOVT EXPRESSES DISPLEASURE, SUES FOR CALM

The Secretary to Ogun State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi has expressed displeasure over the spate of extra judicial killings by operatives of the Nigeria Customs Service, reiterating that the Prince Dapo Abiodun led-administration would evolve more strategies, towards averting the recurring loss of lives and property of law-abiding citizens.

This is coming on the heels of a recent encounter between youths and security operatives along Siun-Abeokuta-Sagamu Interchange, where a life was claimed to have been lost and four others badly injured.

Talabi said this while addressing the aggrieved youths who stormed the Governor’s office complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta to protest against the loss of life and various degrees of injury, inflicted on their colleagues during a face-off with Custom officials.

According to him “the government of Ogun State sympathises with the dead and those in the hospital as a result of the encounter with Customs officers on the Abeokuta-Sagamu interchange road. It is our concern, and we are resolute towards ensuring the safety and welfare of both citizens and residents alike, and we assure you that we will source for information that will allow us to be abreast of what really happened”.
