Come Sunday, December 5, 2020, all roads will surely lead to popular event centre, Bespoke in Lekki, Lagos where the second edition of the much anticipated beauty pageant show, Face of ZIKEL International, powered by Zikel Cosmetics, will hold, and it promises to attract dignitaries and revellers from far and wide.
The 65 beautiful participants(finalists) in this year’s edition are already being camped at a conducive location in Ibeju Lekki area, Lagos, waiting for the D-Day.
The Message International magazine gathered from an impecable source that over 700 young and beautiful damsels applied from different parts of Africa, including Ghana, Cote d’lvoire, Sierra leone and others to participate in the upscale beauty competition, aimed at empowering the female youths across African continent on account of the huge success recorded in the last year’s edition.
Speaking with The Message International magazine on Monday, November 30, 2020, the brand ambassador who also doubles as a consultant to Zikel Cosmetics and coordinator of the event, Halima Abubakar expressed optimism on the success of the pageant which is second to none in Nigeria at the moment as everything has been put in place to ensure 2020 edition turns out more successful and bigger than the previous one.
“On December 5, the 2020 edition of Face of ZIKEL International is going to hold at Bespoke Events Centre, Lekki, Lagos, and it’s really going to be glamorous.
“I have been an ambassador to the company, Zikel Cosmetics since three years ago, and again I am also the coordinator of the event. Basically, there will be a winner that day who will smile home with the star price for the competition. Now, we already have the 65 finalists in camp. They’re being camped in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos and they will be there till December 5 that’s slated for the show. Right now, we’re having some few people who I organized to come visit the contestants. They’re all young people. And you know, I have to contribute in giving back to society that made me. We’re also going to give awards to some deserving Nigerians who had contributed to the development of the country in their choice careers. It’s really going to be a night of unlimited fun and excitement, and I am sure with the support of people like you, the event is going to be a huge success. Thank you!”
Also corroborating the versatile role interpreter’s submission, one of the organizers said, “It’s a Face of Zikel International, Zikel is a make up products company behind the pageant. Face of ZIKEL is an initiative brought up to empower lots of young women out there to be the best they can and become their own bosses in whatever they choose to embark on . So, this is the second edition of the show and it’s showing live on DSTV and GOTV channels- DSTV channel 262 and GOTV channel 103 and 133. We have 700 girls registered fot the competition this year, but right now we have 65 finalists in camp. The camp was opened on November 25 and closes on December 5 which is the grand finale date for the event. And on that day, a winner will emerge as the Face of Zikel, World, and then we’re also going to crown 11 other queens to grab other titles, including Face of ZIKEL International, Face of ZIKEL Tourism, among others.
“The contestants were not just from Nigeria only, some came from Ghana, Cote d’lvoire and other parts of Africa. It’s simply to empower people. So, the winner will go home with a cash price of N1 million and a trip to Dubai in United Arab Emirates. Of course, the winner of 2019 edition also went to Dubai.
“I think at the moment, Face of Zikel International is the biggest beauty pageant in Nigeria. It’s first of its kind, a pageant coming online from DSTV, GOTV and Star Times. We’re also giving awards to well deserving few Nigerians that have distinguished themselves in their respective industries. It’s really going to be a fantastic show.”
