JAMB– Miss Nkechinyere Umeh, a 16-year-old female student of Deeper Life High School in Mowe, Ogun State, who emerged as the top scorer in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Exams (UTME), has explained how she accomplished this achievement.
During an interview with the Punch Newspaper, Miss Umeh, who is from Anambra State and is the first child in a family of four children, thanked God for allowing her to be the top exam scorer.
“My school was highly involved in our preparation for the exam,” she stated of how she prepared for the exams to score 360. We had a succession of tests and classes, and our teachers drilled us. The school also provided an app called Test Driller to all kids. It contained a variety of UTME previous questions and a mock exam. I also practiced by myself. My school always told us to persist and that it would be over soon.
She also disclosed that the exam preparations began as soon as she and her classmates joined SS3, noting that her school was stringent about examination malpractice, therefore the early preparation. Miss Umeh also revealed that she applied to the University of Lagos for Chemical Engineering since she enjoys chemistry and mathematics.
