Force PRO: “He Was Misquoted” – Youth Alliance Lambasts HURIWA Over MC Oluomo’s Saga
The Integrity Youth Alliance has lambasted the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria ( HURIWA) for its discourteous statement against the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Adejobi Olumuyiwa.
In a statement on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Danjuma Lamido, he said that CSP Adejobi Olumuyiwa, who granted an interview with Channels TV and Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as M.C Oluomo, Chairman of the Lagos Parks and Garages, raised the MC Oluomo saga, but unfortunately, he was misquoted.
“To quote the Force spokesperson correctly, he said, “If MC Oluomo said it’s a joke, then let’s accept that it is a joke.” What that statement means is, “Let us see if MC Oluomo will send his boys to attack people on election day because the security put in place in Lagos and the entire country gives no room to electoral violence,” Lamido said.
“It is unfortunate that the Igbo-based HURIWA could say that. “But here we have someone paid by taxpayers’ money helping alleged criminals threaten to unleash violence on voters of other parties other than APC as a joke. This statement coming from this FPPRO is a monumental scandal for which he needs to apologize or be dismissed from that seat.”
“If not that HURIWA is ignorant and biased, will the self-acclaimed Human Rights Writer say they are not aware that after the general election, there were series of humiliations and attacks on INEC staff, journalists, and Yorubas in Lagos, the North West, and some parts of the South East?”
“Where was HURIWA when the Igbos physically harassed INEC staff, Yoruba, and even their own people who wanted to vote for APC or PDP?
“We know that HURIWA is unlettered to know that CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, an astute police officer and a professional public relations practitioner, is an alumnus of the prestigious University of Ibadan.
“CSP Adejobi has carved a niche for himself in police public relations management with the experience he has gained serving as PPRO in different police commands and zones for more than a decade.
“He is a member of several professional bodies and associations, which include: the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR); the International Public Relations Association (IPRA); the Point Man Leadership Institute, USA; the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), USA; the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP); the Boys Brigade Nigeria; and the Institute of Corporate Administration, Nigeria.
“Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi is an epitome of princehood, cultural dynamism, moral values, and African traditional evangelism who thrives to uphold equity, justice, and fairness in all areas of life.
“On a final note, we called on HURIWA to take whatever evidence they have against Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as M.C. Oluomo, to the court and suspend all these tribal emotional dramas, the statement concluded.
