Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Orhionmwon-South Constituency in Edo State have apologised and begged for forgiveness from the people in the locality for their error in the choice of Hon Roland Asoro to represent the constituency in the State House of Assembly.
They made the plea at a reception head in honour of Deacon Newman Ugiagbe,
a former Chairman of the Local government hosted by APC leaders in his ward
(Ukpato) to formally inform them of his aspiration to the constituency seat
in the State House of Assembly, the leaders advocated for a loyal party man
who will prioritise the welfare of the people of his constituency.
The leaders, who were members of APC from all the wards in the constituency, including Mr Wesley Asoro and Timothy Asoro therefore pleaded for forgiveness, with a vowed that the error would not reoccur again.
According to them, after getting the mandate of the people, Hon Asoro
engaged in politics of isolating the electorate at the expense for self
serving interest.
According to them, “the constituency has never had it so bad.
Having realised their mistake in the past election, they said they decided
to endorse and express their support for Deacon Newman Ugiagbe for the
position in the 2019 general elections”.
On his part, Deacon Ugiagbe disclosed that Orhionmwon South constituency
deserves better representation in the State House of Assembly.
Reacting to the development, the member representing Orhionmwon Sought
constituency Edo state House of Assembly Hon Roland Asoro, debunked the
rumour making around that his two cousins Timothy Asoro and Asoro Wesley
who played a major role in his first election have been abandoned.
In his words, “The people you mentioned are my second cousins brothers I
love them so much I don’t have anything against them and I can’t say wrong
things against them it’s family issues”
He said, i don’t want to sound boastful, on the area of
constituency project my vibrant representation in the House and number
of projects has been attracted and done by my humble self for the good
people of my constituency which my people can attest to.
