The telecommunication company is quietly clearing out its closet. In the last 24 hours, reports have had it that Wizkid, Wande Coal, Burna Boy and Sammie Okposo have been dropped as Globacom brand ambassadors. Even singing duo, P-Square have been one of Glo’s longest serving ambassadors having signed a huge N240m deal back in 2010 have been dropped too.
One half of the group, Peter made it known via his Twitter account handle. According to reports, GLO has been involved in a lot of messy scandal and huge debts during the year, which could have been a reason they dropped their artistes as ambassadors.
Among the list of those dropped, Wizkid can be regarded as the only one whose contract suffered a short-term as he was just signed last year after parting ways with MTN. However, Timaya still remains a Glo ambassador as he confirms through his instagram account.
It was also gathered that each of them receive at least N120Million as annual fee as ambassadors except for P-Square who receive N240Million because it consists of two people, hence, Glo will be saving around N720Million by taking this step.
