It was a gathering of who is who in the Nigerian entertainment industry, especially in the Yoruba movie genre of Nollywood as renowned gospel music star, Prophetess Wunmi Awoniyi aka Gbogomifunmi and her son, Michael, who was fortunate to have shared the same date with her, celebrated their birthday party in Grand style at A1 Royal Hotel, Aga Ikorodu, Lagos, on Sunday 11th November, 2018.
The one in town superlative event kicked off exactly 2pm when a popular gospel Singer, Dare Melody took on the podium to entertain guests with his melodious tunes. His performance took a while before the official MCs of the day, Ronke Oshodi Oke and Adekola Tijani took over from him to officially commence the programme.
Subsequently, the wife of a legendary actor cum mother of Femi Adebayo, Alhaja Risikat Ejide Adebayo, who stepped into the event in company of Sodiq Adebayo’s mum was invited to the podium for the opening prayers.
The Adebayos really showed some love to the celebrator and the celebrater as Sodiq, Tope and their wives got to the venue early for proper coordination. It will interest you to know that the beautiful cakes used at the party were baked by Sodiq Adebayo’s wife.
However, another musician known as Q-Dot Alagbe churned out his performance before wave making Nigerian entertainer, Jigan Baba Oja aka Somo Age Mi also picked up the microphone to entertain guests.
Shortly after that, Gbogomifunmi and her son were ushered in with the staff of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi. They both got a standing ovation from the guests while Iya Oriki was on the stage dishing out what she knows how to do best.
Oga Bello, Femi Adebayo, Nike Peller, the celebrater’s mum, Yemi Alade Grace, friends and others were invited on stage to share their experiences with prophetess Wunmi Awoniyi, and they all said wonderful things about her.
The founder of Genesis Church Otta, Ogun State, Prophet Oladele Isreal was also among those who ministered at the event.
After Genesis’ ministration,a renowned actor, Muyideen Oladapo Lala was invited to the stage to anchor the cutting of the birthday cake.
Another gospel musican, Okiki Imole electrified the event till mummy’s call. The presence of DJ Kay at the occasion was also felt. With him at the event like no others, there was never a dull moment as he was blasting nice songs.
In the guests’ attendance was Oga Bello and his family, Jamiu Tinu Omi, Eko, Omo Mary, Opeyemi Oshow, Tolu Omo Woli, Mrs Fashoro aka Grandma Ibeji, Mrs Adegbenro, Oluwayemisi Jegede, Deji Ojo, Olori Adeyemo and many others.
