Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state has withdrawn for the senatorial primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ogun central senatorial district scheduled to hold on Sunday, October 7, 2018.
Amosun who is the governor of Ogun state made this known through the secretary to the state government, Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa.
“We wish to inform the general public and party members in Ogun central senatorial district that Sen. Ibikunle Amosun will not be part of the primaries that is billed to take place tomorrow, 7th of October 2018.”
“This came after series of consultations and negotiations with APC national leaders and party faithfuls in Abuja.”
“The current situation that emanates from the governorship primaries which has Dapo Abiodun as the party’s flagbearer is being looked into by the leadership of our great party, APC”
“We wish to have a rancour free primaries in Ogun state where some people will not have the feelings that the governor override their ambition. This is what a true democrat stands for.”
“However, we hereby notify all our agents and supporters to desist from the primaries and vote for any other candidates they so wish.”
“APC is bigger than any individual’s interest or ambition, the unity of the party is supreme and must be uphold at all time.”
