It was a moment filled with joy on Saturday, 2nd of June, 2018 at the You Read Library at Yaba, Lagos as Grace Ekpu, Favour Ogundimu were respectively announced as winner and first runner up of the GTBank Days of Dorcas Photography Competition and workshop.
The Programme started on Monday, 28th of May, 2018 with the training of over 20 ladies who are specialised in the area of photography by lot of profesionnals. It ended with a presentation of their various works of art done by them in the course of the week, which was well scrutinized by judges who are all vast in the area of photography.

The winner, Grace Ekpu,who has been into photography for five years noted that she feels very great and happy after going through a 6-day of intent work even though she wasn’t expecting to win but she thank God.
She also stated that within six days, a lot has been added to her knowledge of photography, making it known that before now, she never knew her pictures should tell stories but after the workshop, she has been able to learn about that.

Similarly, while speaking with the runner-up, Favour, who is into conceptual photography, She revealed that at a point she didn’t understand what she was doing but the workshop has set her eyes right and made her exposed when It comes to the art of photography.

Popular Photographer, TY Bello, one of the facilitators in a brief chat explained that it has been joyful to share her knowledge and that she love the fact that it was strictly for women because most women are not aware that photography isn’t just commercial, it’s a way to have a voice and it gladdens her heart that the participants have been able to realise that.
With this Initiative, Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) has been able to expose a lot of women to being independent. Even though two ladies emerged winners, the presentations of everyone were mind-blowing.
