Great Feat: Lancelot Imasuen’s Romantic Comedy Movie Gets Official Invitational Selection Screening At DBFF 2017

 

 

It’s another giant stride for popular movie producer, Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen, as his romantic comedy movie, ATM has secured an official invitational selection for screening at the third-annual Denton Black Film Festival (DBFF) which will come up between January 27-29, 2017 at the historic Campus Theatre in downtown Denton, North Texas.

 

The week long festival celebrating the diverse stories and culture of the black community through film, music and art, will feature narratives, documentaries, and shorts submitted by filmmakers nationwide and internationally.

 

In its second year, the festival garnered an audience of about 2,500 and festival organizers are expecting more than 4,000 attendees in 2017.

 

DBFF, an event of stories that empowers, Arts that inspires and Culture that builds; is a platform for stories about black lives, black culture and black experiences to be shared, told and lived which makes ita great match for ATM and Lancelot’s movies.

 

ATM, a romantic comedy which featured British born fluent Pidgin English speaking actress, Oyinbo Princess and sensational Alex Ekubor, would also host valentine couples in a unique valentine experience on saturday February 11, 2017 at Aldeez 7879 Spring Valley Road, Dallas, TX was screened at the Capital City Festival at Houston Texas in August 2016, will have a tour of major streets in the US starting from Dallas to Austin TX, during the launch of African Cinemas in the State under Texas Blue Mountain Media Inc’s ‘Reel 2 Reel’ initiative in February, then to Houston before its London screening.

 

Denton, a rapidly evolving arts and culture hotbed provides the perfect backdrop for DBFF on its trajectory to building community, celebrating culture, but most importantly, sharing stories.

 

The DBFF leadership has also added to its ranks, Valeshia Butterfield-Jones as the national chair. Ms. Jones a renowned leader in the entertainment industry and is currently serving as the head of Black Community Engagement at Google.

 

Main attractions and activities during the festival include a music concert on Saturday, January 28th, headlined by acclaimed jazz vocalist, Ashleigh Smith, a two week-long art exhibit  featuring select works of Dallas visual artist, Christopher Blay, and a “Women In Entertainment” component. Other ancillary events are spoken word and comedy showcases, industry workshops and an artist mixer event.
