Operatives of the Ogun state police command have arrested two suspected fake soldiers who have been terrorizing Ota and Itere area of the state

The suspects, Babatunde Jude and Henry Agele were arrested following series of report by residents of the area about activities of some men in Army uniform terrorizing the area.

Parading the suspects, with 24 others suspects over the weekend , the Ogun state Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson said the suspects were arrested in full military camouflage while extorting and brutalizing innocent members of the public.

One of the suspects confessed he was dismissed from the Army since 2015,according to him the hardships in Nigeria push me to crime,after I was dismissed, with the camouflage I can eat and take care of myself . I have a partner that both of us carry the act.

CP Kenneth Ebrimson said the suspects were arrested following technical intelligence gather that some hoodlums specialized in large quantity supply of weed.

Police boss said, upon receiving the intelligence, the SARS operatives led by one ASP Olayiwola Babatunde pin down the suspects with a Chevrolet Bus with registration number KSF 390 XS loaded with 40 bags of weeds suspected to be cannabis with two occupants of the bus were also arrested.

Meanwhile, the state police command has launched its community policing formation network.

Ebrimson said the aim of the formation network is to inform the general public on the need to be security conscious and ensure cooperation to enhance reduction of crime in the state.

He added that, the formation network contained phone numbers of all divisional officers and the response lines of special operatives on the highways in case of emergency.

CP called on members of the public not to hesitate in calling the designated lines at the Citizens Complaints hot Centre, saying crime management is everyone business.
