• Advocates Personal Hygiene, Community Health Amidst Cholera Outbreak In Lagos
Iconic Council Legislator and Deputy Leader, Lagos Island Local Government Legislative Arm, Hon. Taiwo Oyekan celebrates with the Muslim Communities and Residents on Eld-il-Kabir Festival.
In a Press Statement issued in Uptown Lagos, Hon. Oyekan stated that Eld-il-Kabir is a festival of sacrifice and appreciation to Almighty Allah.
He noted further that, it is to commemorate the sacrificial honour bestowed upon the Holy Prophet Abraham when, in a dream, Allah commanded him to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of submission to Him.
“I Celebrate With Muslim Brothers And Sisters Across ISALE-EKO, OLOWOGBOWO And OKO FAJI Communities On Lagos Island Local Government Area”, He wrote.
“I Enjoin You To Observe The Teachings Of Islam At All Times and Emulate Prophet Abraham’s Virtues as exemplified in Obedience to Allah”, the statement continued.
Hon. Oyekan urged Residents to show Compassion to one another and the Less-Priviledged during the festive period and beyond.
Reacting to Cholera outbreak in some Local Government Areas in the State, Hon. Oyekan charged Lagosians to observe high level of Personal Hygiene by regular washing of hands and use of Sanitizer after every task.
“Do not consume contaminated water. Prepare food Items in the most hygienic way to forestall further spread of the disease” Hon. Oyekan stressed.
He cautioned locals against indiscriminate waste disposal.
He also emphasised the importance of
Community Health.
“I Pray Almighty Allah accept our Prayers, Sacrifices and forgive our Shortcomings, (Amen)”. He concluded.
