How High Chief Augustus Popoola Buried His Foster Mum, Ann Edith In London
Chief Augustus Femi Popoola, the Bada Oke ona in Abeokuta Ogun State and Balogun Ago Odo recently buried his late foster Mum Ann Edith better known as Shirley in London.
Chief Popoola, a top and successful Property consultant in England was in high spirit alongside his other members of his family as they gathered to give a befitting burial to his late foster Mum.
The funeral service was held and was followed by a private interment,
the ceremony was attended by
Family ,friends and well wishers.
“It was a celebration of Mama’s impactful life and legacy” stated Chief Popoola.
He added that ” our prayer is that God will continue to grant the entire family the fortitude to bear her sad irreplaceable loss’
Late Ann Edith’s Profile
Ann Edith better known as Shirley was born on 27th January 1939 Manor park to Thomas and Qeenie Jacket.
Shirley was the eldest of three Children with her siblings Maureen and brother John.
When Shirley was nine year’s Old,her mum Queenie passed away and she was raised with her sister and brother by their Nan,Nanny Collins.
Shirley attended St Winefriede’s school and aged sixteen by then,she got married to her hearthrob Ronald James Tiley, and they both raised and cared for and nurtured three Boys named Tony,Tunde and Femi and later adopted twin Boys, Peter and Paul.
We however gathered that, Shirley spent most of her life in canning town but she loved spending her summer’s in Yalding, harvesting fruits and hops whist having all her family around her.
In Shirley’s home,all were welcome at all times,her doors were never closed to anyone.
The love and care she gave to everyone around her could be felt in abundance in every corner of the room and it will be something hard to find as she will be surely missed by everyone.
