…set to publish book on Nigerian hip hop
Eddy Remedy, a founding member of defunct boy band-The Remedies, says he does not wish to be known as Eddy Remedy any more, instead he should be addressed by his first stage name -Eddy Montana.
The former Kennis music star who spoke exclusively to this writer say though it has been a long time that he delivered an authentic material to music lovers in Nigeria, he still has what it takes to take his rightful place in the music industry “it is true that the last time Nigerian felt my authentic vibe was in my days with The Remedies (Tony Tutuila, Idris Abdulkaream and myself), but I want to assure you I still have the vibe inside of me and I have taken time to study the new stars in the business so I believe I still have what it to bounce back, that is why I am working hard. First thing I want you all to know is that I am no more Eddy Remedy but Eddy Montana”.
Aside music what has he been keeping himself busy with “I am getting bye because God has been so faithful, my comeback will include a book that will tell the story of Nigerian hip hop from an insider’s point of view and that book will help my fans in particular and Nigerian at large to understand me better”. Can Mr. Montana share some of these impressions he wishes to correct with us “for instance people will know that it was my temper mostly that led me into some things and not drugs or alcohol …” and? “You just have to wait for the book.
The Remedies with their track “sakomo” are viewed as the second most authentic hip hop group in Nigeria after Junior and Pretty of “bolanle fame”
