‘ I was stoned with Pure water on stage’ – Tiwa savage reveals

When the going gets tough, the tough keeps going. It takes persistence to make it in any field we find ourselves. Persistence has made Nigeria’s leading female artist, Tiwa Savage who she is today. Even as talented as she is, she had to go through some process and tough times like everyone does.

The Versatile ‘Diva’ who has come to be known for her thrilling performances revealed that she was once pelted with pure water bags at a show she attended as a newbie in the Nigerian entertainment industry. Speaking at the Youth Enterprise Conference 2016 , she said, “My first performance at Kennis Easter Fiesta was a disaster! I was stoned with pure water bags because I was singing English songs and blowing too much phonetics.I ran back to my husband who was my boyfriend at that time and cried ‘my people are not accepting me, I don’t know what to do.’ He told me to start singing songs that they could relate with. And that was how I came up with Kele Kele Love.
