I will make sure innocent citizen are not arrested in the name of cultist in Lagos -CP Owohunwa

Lagos State commissioner of police assured Lagosian that nobody will arrest any innocent person who is not a member of any confraternity.

 

 

 

 

This was disclosed while briefing pressmen by the police boss CP Idowu Owohunwa

 

 

 

No fewer than Forty-two suspected cult gang members were arrested in different locations within the state in the last two weeks with sophisticated weapons.

 

 

 

According to the Police boss, the suspected cultists were arrested during different operations by teams of the Tactical Squads in Ikorodu, Ijora and Ebute-Metta and Orile areas of the state.

 

CP said “We have decided not only to arrest cultists but to go after the fabricators of arms to nip attacks on innocent people or their perceived enemies in the bud.”

“Today, we are parading 42 suspected cultists. We intend to carry out the battle to their doorsteps or their enclaves.

“We will deploy every asset within our disposal. We will deny them space to operate in the state. So, we are advising them to repent or they will not have peace and face the wrath of the Police.

“We want to reassure Lagos residents that the battle of getting rid of cultist and other criminals is a promise that must be fulfilled stated CP Owohunwa

” I need support of the members of the public as to win this battle against cultists and other criminals is a common battle. Ten arms, six locally made gun, knives and thirteen live cartridges and assorted charms were recovered from the cultists.”

Speaking further, the Police boss stated that they also want to deploy our unique intelligency assets,the orientation is that we do not wait until the cultists strike.

“We want to take steps ahead of them in order to restore peace in Lagos. Through the officers deployed for the operation within the first two weeks we have made significant breakthroughs which are worthy of notification for members of the public.” CP Owohinwa also said.

“I want to warn the cultists in line with the promise I made to Lagos residents. We will deploy all our operational assets and I will provide the leadership that will sustain the battle on the cultists who threaten the internal security of the state.”

The CP assured that “The Lagos State Command under my watch will deny them the space with a forceful manner. I want to assure the residents that we are not going to relent.”
