Ijebu East Council Chairman, Oyesanya, Presents N3 billion 2024 “Budget of New Era

 

 

 

Ijebu East Local Government Chairman, Hon. Oyesanya Adetutu Elizabeth, has presented the 2024 Budget proposal to the Council’s Legislators. The Budget titled “Budget of New Era”, presented at the Legislative Chambers in Ogbere yesterday, shows a proposed expenditure of N219,370,000.00 and an estimated revenue of N60,800,000.00 from IGR for the 2024 fiscal year.

Oyesanya while making the presentation thanked the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for creating an enabling environment that fosters synergy between the State and Local Government Councils for sustainable development in the building our future together agenda. She affirmed her commitment to making life more bearable for her people and deliver to them basic dividends of democracy within the resources at her disposal

The budget tagged “Budget of New Era” aims at mproving delivery of social services in the areas of Health, Youth and women developmen, education, infrastructure and rural development, among other relevant projects that will positively impact the people.

The budget has N219,370,000.00 as Capital expenditure as the government intends to improve on infrastructural development for the people of Ijebu East, as infrastructure is key to development.

Hon. Oyesanya emphasized that projects listed for execution would be speedily executed and well monitored for proper delivery as there will be no room for financial indiscipline.

Leader of the House, Hon Akindele Fasheyi , in his acceptance speech, thanked the Governor for the confidence reposed on the Executive and Legislative Council of the Local Government.

Hon. Fasheyi did not hide his excitement when he stated that: “I am very happy to witness today as I never expected it. I was surprised when I received the Chairman’s correspondence stating that she intend to present the budget in the month of December, which had never happened before in the last few years”.

“Let me also state that, this is a welcome development, on behalf of yhe entire Legislative Council, I want to say that it will be given a speedy deliberation and approval so long as the Heads of Department will cooperate with the House during their budget defense”

The Leader of the House further stated that from the information at his disposal, Ijebu East Local Government is the first in the Ogun State to present 2024 fiscal budget and therefore thanked the Chairman and her team for putting Ijebu East Local Government on the record.
