Ikorodu Oga honours AD Governorship Candidate, High Chief Owolabi Salis

The whole kingdom of Ikorodu was thrown into a celebration mood on Saturday, 17th of November, 2018 as Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS) led by Otunba Ganiu Abiru honoured the Lagos state governorship candidate of the Alliance For Democracy (AD), High Chief Owolabi Salis with a merit award due to his immense support and immeasurable role he has played for the progress of Ikorodu and Lagos as a whole.

The award ceremony day which was also the grand finale of the Ikorodu Oga Day 2018 had hundreds of Ikorodu residents in attendance amidst dignitaries like the Oba Of Ikorodu Kingdom, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, The Governor Of Lagos State represented by the Commissioner for Physical Policy and urban development, Mr. Rotimi Ogunleye, the majority leader of Lagos state house of assembly, Hon SOB Agunbiade, to mention a few.

Upon entry, the crowd were seen chanting the name of High Chief Owolabi Salis. This shows how impactful he has been in the past and how impactful he can be in the future.

The award according to findings isn’t just given to any individual, only people who have done extraordinarily well in terms of leadership, welfare, and every other good qualities are given these awards and out of everyone, only three were selected in the 2018 edition which includes High Chief Owolabi Salis and two others.

The Oba Of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi praised high chief Owolabi Salis for his tremendous support for the land, he also analysed how he has helped him in time past.

 

‘The owolabi that I know deserves this award, he can never be forgotten, I remember a time I was in the United States Of America, he mobilized people, followed me around during my assignment in the United states, the Osugbos will never forget him, he has done a lot for Ikorodu and I wasn’t surprised when IKODASS nominated him for the merit award’
