IMAN Awards 2016 Voting Period, Event’s Date Shifted

This should be good news to those who have agitated for it. Since the release of nominations for Islamic Music and Associated Nominees (IMAN) Awards’ categories on Monday 4th April, 2016, the organizers, Synergy Media, have revealed that they have been bombarded with phone calls and text messages from a good number of nominated artistes seeking for more time to canvass their fans home and abroad to vote
for them.

“And since the award event belongs to the industry, the voice of the players within must be hearken by us, hence, owing to popular demand, we have bowed to the pressure to extend the voting period to Sunday, 15th May, 2016, while the award event would now hold on Sunday, 22nd May, 2016, at Quadosh Place, Plot 92 to 95, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun Road, Ikeja, Lagos.” Synergy Media’s Press Release stated in part.

According to the organizers, apart from nominees having more and equitable time to sell themselves to voters and have a fair contest with others in the same category, the major benefit of the shift is that a television partnership arrangement sealed between Synergy Media and Tiwantiwa Television on Consat, Ipnx, filmontv in Europe and America and StarTimes can, during the period of the extension, be fully exploited by interested nominees to showcase their talents to viewers and thereafter canvass for the viewers’ votes on air. And this window is said to be opened to all Islamic artistes nominated FREE of
charge!

“All they have got to do is to call Saheed Ojubanire on this line:
07034570500 or Ola Muhammed on: 08087251228, to be scheduled for appearance on the digital television station situated at 31, Toyibat Street, Medina Estate, Gbagada Church, Lagos State.

Interested Islamic artistes, after they must have called to be put on schedule, are expected to go to the television station for recording on any Thursday convenient for them starting from Thursday 21st April till Thursday, 12th May, 2016.

For the purpose of emphasis, the recordings would be on Thursdays only between the hours of 8am and 4pm,” the Press Release revealed.

Meanwhile, the organizers have also disclosed that all nominees shall be issued Certificate of Nomination at the award event after winners must have emerged in all the categories. “No stone would be left unturned to make the awards the most memorable for Islamic artiste in Nigeria,” they assured.
