INDEFINITE POSTPONEMENT OF LAGOS STATE CDHR MEETING

*

Good Day all

I believe we are all aware of recent developments in the global village and in our country, Nigeria in respect of concerns and fears surrounding the outbreak of Corona Virus Pandemic; particularly in Lagos.

Within the past 72 hours, Lagos State have issued directives banning all gatherings involving 50 people and above. , Lagos State Government has also closed down all schools. I’m sure we will see more states issuing similar directives shortly. The Federal Government has earlier issued a directive on similar restrictions. And NYSC camps, Churches and mosque nationwide were shut down.

Our meeting was slated for this Sunday 29th
March,2020.The Transition Committee, in consultation with the National President and other stakeholder in the Branch, has taken the painful decision to POSTPONE INDEFINITELY our meeting until situation in the country improves.

This position is to ensure the safety of our members and to comply with the directive of the government, particularly Lagos State Government.

Further developments will be duly communicated to us all as events unfold.

We urge and appeal to all our members to avoid public gatherings and follow all the preventive measures outlined or advised by public health experts.

Thank you for your cooperation

Signed
A. A Aloba
Secretary Transition Committee.
