INVEST IN CSR, ABIODUN CHARGES INTENDING INVESTORS, RELIGIOUS BODIES

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has called on religious bodies and corporate institutions situated within the state to embark on Corporate Social Responsibility programmes that would better the lives of the people.

The Governor gave this admonition at the official commissioning ceremony of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Redeemers Health Centre of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

He said the unit would help in speeding up the process of health provision, to not only members of the church, but also to the people from neighboring areas.

Abiodun, who also noted that the commissioning of the project was a milestone in the history of the church, observed that the church, with the project, had taken Christianity to a new level.

Governor Abiodun enjoined other religious bodies with the intention to offer quality social responsibility to the people to do so, saying that the doors of the state government was open to such lofty ideas that would make health care delivery readily available for the people.

“There are open windows of partnerships in other areas of infrastructural development provision of amenities and human capital development, I assure you that you will find us worthy partners,” he said.

In his remarks, the General  Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye opined that the traditional institution must be respected and revered by government, because any government that fails to recognize the institution was bound to fail.

“I am convinced beyond all doubts that in any restructuring that Nigeria may do, they must have a very special place for traditional rulers. Any form of government in Nigeria that ignores the traditional rulers or push them to the background is faulty, because they have been ruling us before the British came and they were doing a good job,” he said.

Earlier, the Special Assistant to the General Overseer in charge of Christian Social Responsibility(CSR), Pastor Idowu Iluyomade noted that in just a year, the church through His Love Foundation had done 86,000 projects all over the country.

Iluyomade commended the wife of the General Overseer, Pastor Folu Adeboye for donating the building now used for the Intensive Care Unit.

Idowu also noted that the church through His Love Foundation had opened 16,000 daily feeding centers, empowered over 100,000 people in the last one year through partnership with regions under the guidance of the church.

He said the church in the last two years was able to do 9 successful kidney transplants and have dialyzed 9600 people, most of which was done free.
