The leadership of one of the happening age-groups, otherwise known as Regbregbe in Ijebuland, Egbe Obaneye Omooba Obinrin Akile Ijebu has disassociated herself from an underground move by some fifth columnist to cause disaffection within the female age-group.

Egbe Obaneye Omooba Obinrin Akile Ijebu ’83-85 comprises of females of Ijebu extraction.

The female age-group disclosed that one Ewatomi Ogunowo who once served as the Eta Egbe of the Regberegbe was alleged of wrongdoing, but rather been remorseful, went to town to disparage the name of the group.

The group added that she was thereafter expelled from its fold to serve as deterrent to others in order to instill displine in the Regberegbe.

Furthermore, a reliable source close to the group hinted that some erring members of the age-grade who were expelled for their mischievous activities are now ganging up to undermine the leadership of the Regbregbe headed by Iyalode Temilade Ajokeade Oluwaloni.

The Baba Egbe of the female age-group was fingered as the mastermind of the attempt to cause disunity within the group.  Hence, the move to paint the picture of internal wranglings within the members.

Information has it that, the Iyalode In Council met sometimes early this year in Ijebu Ode and concluded that the Baba Egbe of the group should be changed on the allegation that he was influencing some members to take up arms against Iyalode, on trump up charges.

“Rather than get involved in activities to promote unity and beliefs of the Paramount ruler and Awujale of Ijebuland, HRM Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, our Baba Egbe has been busy creating disunity and disaffection within our members’, a source who preferred anonymity was quoted.

Another source added that, the Iyalode of the group, a United Kingdom based aesthetician is a charismatic leader with history of successful administration who has over 30 members of the Regbregbe  with her.

The source asked the innocent public to beware of impersonators who are making skeletal move to destroy the image of the group on the pretense that there is a face-off within the group.
