Juwon Lawal Rasaq: Balancing Entrepreneurship with Lifestyle
*by Folorunsho Hamsat

People seldom regard personal stories about journeys to success. And quite a few are interested in the quiet style of an entrepreneur. Juwon Lawal Rasaq, founder and chief executive officer of Africent Group Of Companies Ltd, is a young mogul who, for many years before his rise on the business scene, focused his attention on self-development. His philosophy about life, from the inception, is, ‘if you can’t look to better yourself, how can you help others?’ That one point has been the catalyst for him in his business.

Over the last few years, Juwon has done more reflections and developments with people within his area of business. Though he is adventurous, he travels around the globe more with the pleasure of spending time and rubbing shoulders with influential business people you can name; a choice that continues to add tremendous amounts of values to his personality and personal businesses till date.

Juwon Lawal Rasaq is dedicated and knowledgeable, and his passion for his business, its purpose is obvious from the outset. The Kogi State, Nigerian born entrepreneur successfully launched his first attempt at business in 2007, as an undergraduate of Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, Edo State. This was made possible by his experience in the production of palm kernel oil extraction. He soon became a force in the maritime industry as a major supplier of marine fuels to ships along the west coast and an active provider of related logistics.

17 years on, Juwon has successfully carved out the next stages of his life in different lines within the global business environment. From the first call with Juwon, one can see and feel the passion for his Africent Group ooze out of him with admiration and pride. Headquartered in Logistics City Dubai World Central, UAE, with branches in the UK and Nigeria, the Africent Group’s commitment to providing first class solutions in such interests as commodities, metals mining, agriculture, chartering, and retail, is something that runs through Juwon like blood through veins.

Juwon is a private and shy person who does his possible best to avoid the spotlight, except it is for business purposes. Nonetheless, times are changing; society now appreciates the unique strengths and valuable contributions that modest business personalities can bring to the table.

Juwon Lawal Rasaq is a silent achiever, who is stepping up to the challenge, building successful businesses on his own terms and proving that you don’t need to be loud to make it in the competitive world of entrepreneurship. This rare quality, in modern day free enterprise, is driving a shift in how businesses are approached, and how success and substance are valued.
