Sahara Weekly Reports That The Non-Governmental Organisation, Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation has distributed food items worth Millions of Naira to Four Hundred (400) residents on Lagos Island Local Government, Lagos, Nigeria.
The distribution exercise was coordinated by the Executive Director of the foundation, Prince Taiwo Oyekan at the Eyo Cenotaph, Idumota, Lagos.
Two (2)Kg Bags of Rice, Raw Meat, Vegetable Oil, Pepper and Tomatoes, Loaves of Bread and Crate of Eggs were gifted to each of the Resident.
While addressing the gathering, Prince Oyekan said that the Food Bank Initiative was organised to further expand its reach to the vulnerable on the Island and beyond.
According to him, the Food Items distribution exercise was to cushion the effects of Fuel subsidy removal.
Prince Oyekan applauded the Federal Government for providing relief funds to each state of the federation.
A Community Leader, Mr. Aromire Babatunde Sheu (Popularly known as Baboo) during an interview with Newsmen, commended the Socioeconomic Intervention Initiative of Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation.
Continuing, He said: “Over the years, the Deputy Leader of Lagos Island Local Government and Executive Director of the Foundation, Prince Taiwo Oyekan has executed numerous Community Development Projects and Economic Empowerment programmes for the residents irrespective of ethnicity and religious affiliation.
Mr. Aromire said: “The Free Food Items Distribution Programme is highly Commendable and Timely. I urged him to continue to do good for humanity”.
An Octogenarian Beneficiary, Alh. Musilimot Olumegbon expressed delight on the Food Items Pack Gift.
“The Almighty God will continue to Guide, Protect and Bless Taiye Omooba (Prince Oyekan). He will never lack anything good”, She Prayed.
She however urged Prince Oyekan to continue his good deeds.
A Widow, Mrs. Shakirat Oliyide also lauded Prince Oyekan’s Philanthropic activities on Lagos Island Local Government and its surbubs.
In her words: “Taiwo Oyekan is a Humble, Selfless, Generous and Kind-hearted Individual”.
Recall that Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation recently held Free Summer Coaching for over One Thousand Students on Lagos Island and its Neighbouring Communities.
Checks also revealed that the NGO had recorded remarkable success in its periodic Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives.
