A 32yrs old mother, Mrs Adelana Blessing of No.12, Olowu Street, Bariga was assaulted and thoroughly battered by her landlord’s Children.

The incident happened on the 3rd of May, 2023 at the same said address .

Saharaweekly learnt that the landlord’s children refused to connect her apartment back after she had paid her electricity bill. Consequently, she was battered and hospitalized for more than 2weeks in Somolu general hospital .

The victim who spoke with our correspondent said that when the electricity bill was shared among everybody she told her landlord’s children that she will give them her part before the week runs out surprisingly they disconnected her apartment which she had sourced for the money to settle the bill but they refused to connect her back.

Narrating further;I asked them why they refused to connect my apartment after I had paid the bill every other person had light only my apartment that was left out from what I could recall until I found myself in the hospital the following day.

” I was told that my landlord’s children battered me until I lost consciousness before some good Samaritan helped me to an hospital.

Now the Nigeria police has charged the matter to court, two among the children who battered the woman is at large, three were arrested without properly investigation of the incident but released them.

I am the victim ,with what I passed through the DPO and IPO charged the victim and perpetrator to court,i need justices, she added.

Reacting to the matter, the coordinator Advocates Children Vulnerable Persons Network (ACVPN) Mr Ebenezer Omejalile asked of what business has the DCB got to do with this case?

Secondly, Its clearly showed how incompetent the so called Dpo is because they were five in number that attacked the victim now they used the victim and her husband to replace the other two mentioned to be at large,we say no to injustice, the victim must get justice.

According to him, supposing the victim had died would the DPO charged her corpse and her husband along with the other three,he queried.
