LASG, EMBASSY OF FRANCE CONFIRM SUPPORT FOR LIFANIMA 2023

 

 

 

The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, The Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board and The Embassy of France in Nigeria have confirmed their support for the 2023 Edition of the Lagos International Festival of Animation (LIFANIMA) which will hold from Tuesday October 24 to Thursday October 26, 2023.

 

 

 

 

 

Submissions of entries for the 7th edition of Lagos International Festival of Animation, LIFANIMA are still open with 324 entries received so far from more than 100 countries, including 27 African countries via its film freeway portal. The festival categories for submissions are: 2D Animation Short, 3D Animation Short, Animation Commercial, Visual Effects and Stop Motion Animation.

 

 

 

In its 7th Edition, LIFANIMA will launch a 2-day Animation workshop and training targeting 200 youths/ undergraduates in the Creative departments on the rudiments of Animation and Visual effects.

On Thursday, October 26th 2023, the 3-day Festival will be rounded up with a cocktail and Award Ceremony which will be held at the Mike Adenuga Centre, Lagos.

Festival Director, Creator and Executive Producer of the multiple award-winning animation series Turtle Taido, Muyiwa Kayode, said, “LIFANIMA has the objectives to promote the rapid development of the animation industry in Nigeria and across Africa; to improve the movie industry through increased inclusion of animation content; to provide a platform for the promotion of local animators and development of the quality of animation and to expose animators to the latest technologies in animation hardware and software.”

The festival will feature Animation Workshop and Training, Screening of Selected Works, Award Presentation, Networking and Entertainment, and will attract Students, animators, local and foreign, filmmakers, investors, financial institutions, advertising agencies, musical video producers, media practitioners, digital marketing professionals, government agencies, information technology companies/manufacturers and the public.
