The last batch of Ogun State pilgrims on holy pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina will depart for the holy land today (Saturday)
According to the Executive Secretary of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Tunji Kalejaiye all the remaining 174 l intending Pilgrims from Ogun State are to assemble at the Board office by 12noon for the final formalities and subsequent trip to Lagos enroute Saudi Arabia.
Kalejaiye stated further the airlift of 550 pilgrims last week was unprecedented.
“It was the largest contingent in the history of pilgrimage in the State. We are doing this last batch also in a record time”.
All intending pilgrims and their families and friends are enjoined to be prompt in finalising their documentation in Abeokuta as “we want to ensure a seamless operation that the state is noted for”.
While the Board is contacting the intending pilgrims through telephone, the Board enjoins pilgrims relatives and family members to avail the intending pilgrims of the need to be time conscious and be the State’s good ambassadors in Saudi Arabia.
