MAN’S INHUMANITY TO MAN: TRADERS SPORADICALLY INCREASE PRICES OF GOODS

Should we call it wickedness or an avenue to make more money before the end of the stay at home order? Well, the fact remains that Nigerian traders are at times catalysts to the suffering of the masses. Just because the government ordered all Nigerians to stay at home while allowing traders of necessities to open for business, prices of goods have suddenly sky rocketed to an alarming rates. Certain additional amounts have been added to virtually all commodities which include foodstuffs which are the common and basic needs of the less privileged who are the primary victims of this long holiday.

Information revealed that people now carefully calculate how they eat on daily basis. Many homes now go about in empty stomach most especially in the afternoon as the little available meal is schedule as dinner. It is however disgusting to realize that the marketers or dealers in all these goods deliberately add more money to the goods. Who knows if the prices will return back to its normal rate after the Covid ’19 lockdown.
