Melody Odiete John With The Sash Tagged ‘Reconciliation’ Has Been Crowned Miss Peace Nigeria 2016.

The prestigious Miss Peace Nigeria/Peace & CSR Award Nigeria (PECAN), organised by Global Peace Pageant Ltd. and Women of Like Minds Empowerment Initiative (WOLMEI) founded by Ex beauty Queen Mrs Lauretta Achudume, was held on November 12 at the NICON Luxury hotel, Abuja. Favour Ezechukwu  with the sash tagged ‘Serenity’ was the 1st Runner Up and Moshurat Isumaila with the sash tagged ‘Amity’ was the 2nd Runner Up.

The event filled with glamour was hosted by Uti Nwachukwu and Jennifer of cool fm Abuja, and the Green Carpet was hosted by Kryss d boss of cool fm and Accolade media.

There were Musical performances and Comedy. Miss Peace Nigeria 2016 Queen won a brand new car, an all expense paid trip to Dubai and a cheque of N200,000,  while the first runner up won  a brand new LED TV, a trip to Dubai and N100,000 and the 2nd runner won a brand new Refridgerator and N50,000. Uwa Damisa won Miss Photogenic, while Tare Love Sigha won Miss Congeniality.

All the contestants went home with consolation prizes and they will all be empowered in different skills and their personal pet projects. Miss Peace Nigeria is a pageant to promote and restore lasting peace in Nigeria and the world, to exhibit and preserve the Nigerian culture, to promote the dignity of womanhood and to groom the Nigerian girl to be role models and Nation builders.

 

The Peace and CSR Award was organized to recognize and celebrate individuals, organizations who have given back to the Nigerian society through Peace initiatives and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Some of the Awardees included: Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Hon Elisha Attai (Founder President, AWLO), Mrs Dayo Keshi (Director General, NCAC), HEE Lady Chy Schola Oriaku PhD (Founder, Lady Chy new world order Foundation), Ordinary Ahmad Isah (Founder/President, Berekete Family), Chief Davies Ibiamu (Chairman APC Rivers State), Comrade Isaac Balami ( Founder Nigeria Rebirth Project), Uti Nwachukwu (BBA winner and O.A.P.) and Love FM. Some other dignitaries present: National President & ExCo members of  NCWS, the US Embassy, Mr Amai Achudume (CEO, Wedgewood homes and Properties Ltd.), Dame Dr. Tumini Akogun, Ufuk Dialogue, Women of Like Minds Empowerment Initiative (WOLMEI), Prof. Oshita Oshita (Director General,IPCR), Hon. Eseme Eyibo, Mr & Mrs Stephen Ozuanu, Barr. Mrs E. Idris Garba, African Women in Leadership Organization (AWLO), Michael Nwachukwu (GUS 5 winner), Vincent Opurum (Nolywood Actor), Mrs Eki Agorom (Founder Katherine Parker Initiative), BPE staffs, Rep. of the Senior Pastor Common wealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Rep. of the Commandant General NSCDC, SA women Affairs AMAC, Mrs Florence Osifo Bello (CEO Flo Style Xpress), Henryval Osemeke (CEO Hvee Entertainment), Mrs Ruth Ibiamu (CEO) Ruthies Clothing, Reps of Embassies, media houses and a host of others! The event was well covered by the media.
