Princess Elizabeth Adetoyin Onanuga is a United kingdom based Nollywood actress. She just released her wave making movie titled, Hadiza. In an exclusive chat with Sahara Weekly, she opened up on her success story and sex life.
What are you working on presently?
I’m working on a project, Omo London .
It’s interesting to know that your film ‘Hadizah’ has been released. Can you tell us the story behind it?
You know I don’t live in Nigeria but London; I encountered some girls living fake life so I decided to do something about it. The story is about fake life and I think it’s okay.
Is the film based on personal experience?
Partly, I encountered some girls living fake life and I decided to do something like that. If you are living a fake life, there is nothing new in it since everything is not real. so its better you be yourself. Thus, I decided to do something like that. We have more than 10 categories of girls in this world. Some are cunny, liars, some are pretenders, and some just love fake life by claiming what they don’t have.
Why did you decide to use Fathia Balogun?
Actually, it was the production manager that said we should use Fathia. We wanted to use Mercy Aigbe but she was busy. I think Fathia was better in the movie.
What’s the response like from your fans?
They love ‘Hadizah’.
Of the entire movie you’ve produced so far, would you say Hadizah is the best?
Yes, because it is well watched. At least in London, I was hosted thrice by different people. They call me Hadizah now in London, even in Nigeria and my facebook fans as well.
How and why did you choose the title ‘Hadizah’?
R- We wanted to use ‘3 divas’ but because it’s not an English movie, we decided to use ‘Hadizah’ since my name is ‘Hadizah’ in the movie, we decided to go for it and I think that title is catchy.
The new project, ’Omo London’ who are the people you want to work with?
I should be working with Odulade Adekola, Rose, e.t.c. the title alone is catchy maybe they will start calling me Omo London too.
What has been the challenge so far?
I’m not based in Nigeria, so I haven’t gotten much challenge because I don’t need to start looking for location and all that. I produce my movies myself. (Cuts in)
Most producers have problem with marketer…….. What about that?
My marketer isn’t doing badly so I have no problem with marketing. It depends on marketer.
Where do you get your inspirations from?
Most times, I get it in my dreams even Hadizah, though I had an encounter with some girls who live fake lives. I wanted to do another story but my mind just told me to do something that has to do with 3 girls. In fact, ‘Omo London’ too. I just felt like doing a movie about the lifestyle of we U.K girls & also my past experience…..that
Most people believe actresses are promiscuous, what is your take on that?
I don’t believe that and I don’t think so. I’m not like that. I don’t know why most people venture into acting but I can tell you my own reason. It’s because I love entertainment. I could remember in 2005 when I went to a location with a friend, one of the directors came to me and asked if I want to act. I said No because I was scared of my dad then but I decided to join because I think I can contribute my own part in it.
Does that mean you’ve never slept with anyone in the industry?
No! I’ve never.
How do you handle your admirers?
I’m a pretty girls and if I don’t have admirers, I think I should go and wash my head in a river (laugh). Whenever they make advances, I just tell then I’m engaged. I’m just friendly to them.
What are the craziest things your admirers have ever done to you?
There’s a lot of them. The craziest thing they’ve done is sending their nude pictures. Whenever I see such, I just laugh it off.
Have you ever sent your own nude pictures to them?
No, I’ve never.
Which part of your body do your admirers love most about you?
They love my eyes. It melts them.
What does your parent feel about this acting thing?
My mum is late. My dad doesn’t really like it because he is scared of scandals.
.Can you tell us what defines your fashion style?
I love fashion a lot and I think I’m trying a bit.
Tell us about your love life
I can’t disclose that for now but behind every successful woman, there must be a man. There is a man.
Hope the role you play as an actress isn’t affecting your relationship?
Not at all.
Can you play a sex role for $1 million?
Forget about the money but as a good actress, you should be able to play any role. I’m a good actress. If you look at Hollywood, the best actress there can play any role. I can play sex role if there’s a lesson for the audience to learn from it.
Does that mean in order to teach morals, you can act nude?
So far there’s a lesson.
