MultiChoice Announces ‘’DStv Summer Besties’’ Competition

 

Leading video entertainment company, MultiChoice Nigeria, has announced the start of the DStv Summer Besties competition in Nigeria to commemorate this year’s International Friendship Day on July 30, 2017.

From 17th July, 2017, DStv is challenging kids between 5 and 12 to explore their creativity by answering the all-important question: ‘’what does friendship mean to you’. Kids will be required to post a 30 second to one minute video of themselves describing what friendship means to them either in form of art and craft, song, speech or poem.

Entries can be submitted online either on Facebook.com/dstvng or Instagram.com/dstvnigeria with the hashtag #DStvFriends and three winners will emerge, one from each category. Each winner will receive a scholarship worth N300,000, laptops, bicycles and coloured printers. In addition, their respective schools will win DStv Explora plus dish with a one year premium subscription. Other fantastic prizes up for grabs include: cinema tickets, water bottles, DStv French Touch add on, educational tabs and many more. Entry is restricted to active DStv subscribers and all submissions will be judged for creativity and originality. A selected panel of judges will pick overall winners.  The deadline for receiving entries is 11 August, 2017.

“This competition encourages kids and pre-teensin the country to explore their artistic talent while also having lots of fun”, said Martin Mabutho, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, MultiChoice Nigeria.

“We are committed to supporting the communities around us by investing in issues that matter most to them. With the increased level of bullying and other forms of violence amongst children in Nigeria, it is necessary to promote the attributes of love, care and friendship.This competition aims to celebrate friendship amongst children as they as they can be instruments of peace’’, Mabutho said.

Meanwhile this summer holiday, kids can look forward to new episodes of Stuck in the Middle on Disney (DStv channel 303) every Monday at 4:05 pm. The Lion Guard are back to protect the pride lands with 5 brand new adventures on Disney Junior (DStv channel 309) at 8 am starting on 22 July. The excitement also continues with brand new episodes of Grizzly & the Lemmings on Boomerang (DStv channel 302) at 4:40 pm on 14 August whileYo-Kai Watch premieres on Cartoon Network (DStv channel 301) on 26 August.
