NAPS Southwest Zone Condemned the Discrimination Against Polytechnic and Monotechnic Graduates By NYSC
The Leadership of National Association of Polytechnic Students ( NAPS) Southwest Zone through her Zonal PRO, Comrade Oyewumi Festus Condemned the Discrimination Against the Polytechnic and Monotechnic Graduates by NYSC and Jamb.
Over some months now, there are different policies made by NYSC and Jamb against the Polytechnic and Monotechnic Graduates, ranging from the issue of Part time Students in ND who eventually did their HND in Full time not allowed to partake in NYSC Camp, recently another memo was issued by National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) that Polytechnic and Monotechnic Graduates should produce evidence of Completion the one year Industrial Training, where as University Counterpart also do have their Industrial Training as well but were not ask to produce the same evidence, its very clear that the same HND/Bsc Dichotomy is very much active against the Polytechnic and Monotechnic Graduates in all sectors in Nigeria, this discrimination is centre towards destruction Of Polytechnic Education in Nigeria, the Polytechnic Graduates are doing extremely well than the University Graduates on the field especially in Technical Aspect , those who has University Education and are at incharge Policy Formation should stop using their hatred against Polytechnic Education in Formulating bad Policies against the Progress of Polytechnic Education in Nigeria.
We are calling on the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria to caution both the Director General of National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) and Executive Secretary of Jamb on discrimination Against Polytechnic Graduates in Nigeria, we are calling on Polytechnic Products across Nigeria to wake up and give us support to stop all this discrimination, knowing fully well that no country can grow beyond the level of her technical development and technology advancement, our dear Country that cant produce just ordinary tooth pick are hell bent to destroy the Technical base education that are still doing little in the Production Industries in Nigeria and Federal Government is not doing anything in regards.
