NERC: A Landlord’s outstanding Electricity Bills Cannot Be Enforced On A Tenant

Interestingly,  there is relief for many new  tenants who are groaning under the burden of exorbitant electricity bills imposed on them by their new landlords.

An official statement from the social handle platform of Nigerians Electricity Regulation Commission ( NERC ) has declared it illegal for landlords to enforced outstanding electricity bills of a previous tenant on the new tenant:
A Landlord’s outstanding electricity bills cannot be enforced on a tenant.

A judge recently ruled that the bills of a previous tenant cannot be enforced on a new customer.

Send us details if you are in such situations.
