Interestingly, new Super Eagles debutant, Junior Ajayi on Monday night scored his ninth league goal of the season as already crowned Egyptian League champions Al Ahly beat Tanta 2-1 at the Cairo International Stadium (al-Qāhirah (Cairo).

Ajayi who was given a cameo role in the Super Eagles’ last outing against Serbia in London scored in the 61st minute in Monday’s Premier League outing before his teammate, Marwan Mohsen sealed the victory with his 86th-minute strike.

Though the visitors pulled one back in stoppage time, it was not enough to deny Ajayi and his teammates another three points in what has been a phenomenal season.

As expected, Ajayi was excited to mark the goals’ register for the champions.

Monday’s win is the 25th for Al Ahly in 29 league games; drawing three and losing just one game all season.
