A former President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and Presidential candidate of the Better Nigeria Progressive Party (BNPP) in the 2019 Presidential election, Reverend David Esosa Ize-Iyamu, has said that for Nigeria to bounce back economically, it needs leaders with heart of commitment, determination and courageous.
Reverend Ize-Iyamu made above assertion at 2024 annual conference of Apostolic Round Table (ART) in Lagos, that the economy of this country is so critical that effect the potential of entire continent of Africa, but if Nigeria booms, Africa will cross
“I will encourage everyone to join hand so that we hope that outcome if implemented, it will help to the transformation of the nation,” he added.
According to him, for a new Nigeria to be born, will certainly need men and women with heart, commitment, doggedness and determination as what the convener of ART has consistently exhibited overtime, I want to appreciate your effort, sacrifices with your teams, publicly know and many other that is supporting the good work you are doing from background so much will observed the privilege towards this is commendable.
“Our dear country needs the right leadership to transform the economy to
reach its full potential. It brings pain
when we listen to solutions to Nigeria problems. These solutions had
already been proffered in the past,
but had been neglected by people in
power.
“The key to a new, better and
prosperous Nigeria is leadership.
We have not become a great nation
because of a lack of good leadership.
Nigeria was most unfortunate to
have a leader who had no vision for
the country for eight years. The eight
years of the last administration took
us back for three decades.
“For Nigeria to move forward, we need truly patriotic Nigerian, nationalist Nigeria that will embrace the nation from every part, someone who is courageous that will be able to stand up to touch every major sectors and do the needful to implement policies that will turn around the economy.
In her words at the event, Reverend (Mrs.) Joy Osawaru-Akinyemi, the Co-Convener, described that Nigeria as the pride of Africa, but the headquarter of
poverty, with smiling and suffering citizens, which she said needs liberation.
Reverend Akinyemi used Queen Esther in the Bible as an example who stand for her nation.
According to her, Nigerians must
gather to decide the way forward,
stressing, “the ART is that gather-
ing.” She opined that spirituality is
of essence, hence every activism, advocacy and education in this regard
must be spiritual.
