Obadeyi-Ijaiye kidnappers’ den : Angry Mob beat, set another Kidnapper ablaze, as they turn deaf ears to Police orders

Few minutes ago, there has been unrest in Obadeyi-Ijaye along Abeokuta expressway after a kidnappers’ den was discovered in a canal and due to this, a suspected Kidnapper who was trying to flee from the canal met his untimely death as angry mob burnt him alive.

In a developing report by MDB,  another suspect has been found and set ablaze by the angry mob. MDB independent reporter at the scene reports that a house in the area was suspected as linked to the Ritualists and the mob entered the house and searched it inside out. It was while in the compound that another end of the drainage was discovered and the third suspect found. After he was apprehended, the men of the Nigerian Police force tried to take the suspect to the station for questioning but the mob refused and became hostile. In fact, the Police shot several times in the air to no avail .

Their reason was that the soldiers and the Police officers at the scene allegedly refused to properly enter the underground drainages to conduct a proper search/investigation and the suspect was only apprehended as a result of the efforts of local boys in the area. The Police couldn’t break their resolve to hand over the suspect which eventually led to him been set ablaze.

Recall that earlier today, we had reported that a drainage suspected to be a Ritualists den was discovered after a woman and her child were heard screaming for help from under ground by some road sweepers. A search was launched for them and two suspects were apprehended around the drainage end that connects Agbado Oke-Ado area. One was lucky to be taken away while the other,  one Abdulraheem , who said he would rather die than confess was set ablaze by the mob. The one in Police custody allegedly confessed that the Ritual Sydicate had a membership of about 28 people and has been in operation for over 4 years. This led to the continued search of  the area.

As at press time, another suspect is said to have been caught bringing the total number of suspects found to 4 out of a possible 28. Two were burnt alive, one is in Police custody, details of the 4th remains sketchy as at press time. Search for the woman and her child whose screams were heard is also still on.
