The quest for the occupant of Governor’s Office of Ogun State is arguably the most sort after out of the thirty-six states of the federation.
The competition has been keenly contested among different parties in the state but, I can state here that the success of the winners so far have always been from the kind of candidates they present coupled with the power of the party.
Prince Rotimi Paseda I believe is not a new face in the political saga of the gateway state. His dynamism has always proved him to be outstanding and believing in his own capabilities. Unlike his competitors who has always been running from one bigger party to another seeking the support of godfathers, Paseda has shown that his own strength can see him victorious.
Rather than resting his hope on the influence of the “let-there-be” old men in the Southwest, he laid his political philosophy alongside the priorities of memorable personality in Obafemi Awolowo. I foresee a man who is keen on improving the self-sufficiency in the people of the state as he highlighted four major challenges he wish to tackle to the minimal.
When I heard this man mentioned Education, Health care, Gainful Job opportunities /Housing Facilities and Rural /Urban renewal as his concern priorities, I know this man is confidently ambitious.
In the past elections, I watched the lobbyists of this office sharing rice on the street and spraying money. But what my concern has always been is why politicians have always resorted to this act prior to election time and not on a weekly basis afore any election period?
If this people really have the interest of the poor masses at heart, I believe they should be doing this not at only the time they will be requesting for the best thing we have (which is our vote).
However, Otunba Rotimi Paseda in his own intelligent way and out of his selfless desires rendered his helpful hands in service for the survival of Nigerian Youths by creating Paseda Legacy Foundation (PLF). A foundation which will go a long way in bettering the lives of Nigerians by improving their educational status and business skills and at the same time enhance them to become independent by giving them the opportunity of having their own source of livelihood.
Undoubtedly, this is the kind of person we want if Nigeria will be better. Not politicians who ridicule our poor status by spraying money as bait during election period. If Paseda continue in this manner, he will continue to enjoy the support of the masses the more and his return shall be triumphant.
