Ogun APC Crisis : Has our Governor gone mad again?

By Dayo Amusan

For students of literature, the fictional book, “Our Husband Has gone Mad” wouldn’t be totally strange and unheard of.
It is a corollary of the happenings in our dear Gateway State today, where the Executive Head has thrown cautions into the winds, both in actions and utterances, as a result of a minor incidence of political power transition.

In the classical setting of the titled literature refered, the numerous wives of the ancient feudal lord came to a painful and  irreversible conclusion that their common husband was no longer acting his true self in judgmental issues despite their differences in a studiously polygamous setting.

How could one explain the various faulty and fatal steps being displayed by Governor Ibikunle Amosun just because the Governorship ticket of his Party (APC) did not favour his ordained candidate.
Since the fallouts of the primary, it has been one insane reactions to the other.

One, we had the ‘Emperor’ rail rolling the revered traditional fathers from Egba and Yewa into an otherwise purely political matter. The ill- advised trip to the Presidency turned out to be a total disaster with greater reputational damage to the ego of the Royal fathers’ concerned.

While some remedial and fire brigade controls were being worked out for the faulty Presidency’s trip, our State Executive launched series of political protests through his aides and associates to drive home his inordinate desires of installing an unpopular and unacceptable governorship candidate.

The protests, cutting across the three zones of the State, became ridiculous to the extent that the  women’s wing of APC in the State were ready to protest nakedly in Abuja just to please “his lordship”. What a madness that has turned a joke of the vibrant social media.

It will just be sufficient and  appropriate for SIA’s first lady to lead such a protest nakedly!

If not for lost of sanity, despite the repeated pronouncements of the APC’s NWC on the subject and indeed, the tactical approval of the President himself on same, SIA should have read the hand writings vividly and, applied the break, redirect his energy, resources and time to more productive ventures that would give him a glorious exit. Rather, he keeps digging deep disastrously!

His leaders and elders in the Party, namely; Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Aremo Olusegun Osoba and the Party’s Chairman, Adams Oshiomole rudely became his scape goats and wiping boys. What a pity!

He has become a case of a lost dog. It would never hear the guiding whistle of the hunter at all! Ultimately, it portends great danger.

The elders and leaders in the land should move fast to save, tame and sanitize this ‘maddening husband’ before it gets too late. Just a wise counselling.
