OGUN COMMISSIONS 500 CAPACITY ICT CENTRE

 

 

 

SaharaWeeklyNG Reports That The Ogun State Government has commissioned a 500 capacity Information Communication Technology (ICT) building, at the State Institute of Technology, Igbesa, donated by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun Governor Of Ogun State in his speech at the commissioning of the building, in Igbesa, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, said ICT is an important modern tool for driving education, which has become a force to reckon with.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Governor, represented by the State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu applauded the institution for its outstanding performance, as one of the most compliant in keeping to the guidelines of admission for the year 2019 NATAP-M award by JAMB.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Governor pointed out that the complementary effort of JAMB to sustain the feat and developmental leaps in the education sector, particularly the tertiary sub-sector would help improve the preference for education, which he highlighted as one of the core values of his administration.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“This is a worthwhile project and I am impressed by the demonstration of good managerial skills and benevolence towards one of our institutions in the State. I, therefore, appreciate JAMB and the Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, for deeming it fit in rewarding such outstanding performance”, Abiodun said.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In his remarks, the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Oloyede said the institution has shown qualities that made it win the National Tertiary Admissions Performance Merit Award, commending the Rector, OGITECH, Dr. (Mrs.) Olufunke Akinkurolere for her doggedness and hard work.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oloyede, while appreciating Governor Abiodun’s led-administration for its great investment in the education sector, which has been yielding results, said that delegates would be sent from JAMB for approval of the ICT center.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In her welcome address, the Rector of Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa, Dr (Mrs.) Akinkurolere, revealed that the ICT project was the result of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance Merit Award 2019, which was won by the Institute as the Most Compliant Institution in 2019 JAMB Admission Guidelines.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Akinkurolere stressed that the project would contribute positively to achieve an efficient and effective Information Technology-driven economy for sustainable development.
