He was honoured with Leadership and Governance Award for his outstanding achievements in governance and continuous advocacy on the involvement of youth in governance in Nigeria. It was stated at the events that his recognition was premised on his continuous mode of objective criticism of government especially as it affects the Nigerian Youths. It is on record that Habeeb Whyte authored the first and only Nigerian book that gives details of the politicking and politricking that has been going on in the Nigerian Youth Constituency from 2011 to 2017. The event was held on the 17th January, 2020 at Oduduwa Hall, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State. The imperial Majesty, Oba Adegeye Ogunwusi described Habeeb Whyte as one the new crops of young Nigerians who are redefining governance and leadership and are making waves in their chosen careers. The Ooni maintained that the youth everywhere in the country have been at the epicenter of his royalty since ascending the throne as the Arole Oduduwa, hence the establishment of the Royal African Young Leadership Forum. The first class monarch congratulated Habeeb Whyte on the award and urged him to continue to be one of the voices of the young population in the country by doing things differently, rightly and outstandingly.

In his reaction, shortly after he was handed the award by the Minister for Sports and Youth, Mr. Sunday Dare, the human rights lawyer dedicated the honour to the entire youths of Nigeria and more importantly the youths of Ogun State. He said further that he was so elated to have been a recipient of the Award. He made it known that award became his third international recognition and vowed that he would never stop his advocacy on good governance and leadership in Nigeria as a whole.
