In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, Governor Abiodun hailed Edionseri as a trailblazing entrepreneur whose remarkable legacy has inspired generations of Nigerians, especially in Ogun State, since the 1970s.

“On behalf of myself and the people of Ogun State, I extend our deepest condolences to the family of Alhaja (Chief) Adebisi Edionseri. Her passing is a tremendous loss, but her influence as a business pioneer and social figure will continue to resonate for years to come,” Abiodun said.

“Alhaja Adebisi’s legacy transcends her lifetime. Her contributions to the business world and her vibrant social engagements will serve as enduring reference points. She touched countless lives and left an imprint that will guide future generations,” Abiodun added.

The Edionseri family confirmed the passing of the matriarch in a statement signed by Dr. Adebayo Adebowale. The statement noted that she passed away after a brief illness.

“Her life was a radiant example of grace, dignity, and unwavering faith. Princess Edionseri’s wisdom, kindness, and dedication enriched the lives of many, both within her family and the broader community,” Adebowale said. “She instilled the values of love, resilience, and faith in Allah, leaving behind a legacy that will endure. As we mourn, we also celebrate the extraordinary life she lived. Her warmth, laughter, and teachings will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us forward.”

The funeral for Chief Adebisi Edionseri will be held according to Islamic rites at 4:00 PM on Monday, January 6, 2025, at her residence in Abeokuta GRA.
