Born in Abeokuta, Ogun State, and partly Lagos State, Ọmọ Opeki began her musical journey in 1975. Over the years, she has built a robust portfolio, making her one of the genre’s most revered icons. Her debut album, *Waka Report*, set the tone for a career filled with passion, dedication, and artistic brilliance.

Ọmọ Opeki’s music blends traditional Fuji with the lyrical elegance of Waka, resulting in a classical fusion that resonates with audiences both in Nigeria and abroad. Among her most recognized works is the evergreen album *Unbeatable*, followed by the highly acclaimed *Okiki*. Her most recent release, *Gratitude*, continues to showcase her mastery and commitment to the genre.

Beyond her artistry, Ọmọ Opeki is also an entrepreneur and music executive. She is the CEO/Director of SUWAT Music & Films Nigeria Limited, under which she produces and releases her projects. Reflecting on her journey, Ọmọ Opeki highlights her 2011 performance in London as one of her best experiences. She fondly recalls the excitement of performing in the United Kingdom, marking a significant milestone in her international recognition. Despite decades of performing and recording, she expresses immense gratitude for the absence of major setbacks, attributing her success and inspiration to Almighty Allah.

As an artist who has successfully navigated both traditional CD markets and the rise of digital platforms, Ọmọ Opeki believes in the power of adaptability. She values both forms of distribution, understanding their respective strengths in promoting her music to diverse audiences.

Looking ahead, Ọmọ Opeki is excited to announce her upcoming project, an album titled *Step Up*, which promises to elevate her sound to new heights. She also plans to continue strengthening her career throughout 2024, with renewed energy and ambition.

In addition to her musical pursuits, Ọmọ Opeki advocates for improved support from the Nigerian government, particularly in strengthening the economy and the music industry.
