One Killed As Police Officer leads land grabbers To operation In Lagos

A police officer, two others have been arrested in connection with the death of a middle aged man along Otanor ,and injured another in NITEL area of Ikorodu .
The suspected officer ,who is being detained at the SCID ,Panti and fourteen others reportedly led armed land grabbers Igbogbo area of Ikorodu
The incident occurred on Friday morning when thugs unleashed terror in the area.
Sahara weekly gathered that those involved in the attacks were mobile police officers who came from Ibadan squadron unit for the operation and engaged some land grabbers to disrupt an on-going work in a site in Igbogbo area to forcefully take over a large expanse of land from the owner.
One Lolade ,an eyewitness said that if it was not the quick intervention of the divisional police officer ,Igbogbo, many would have lost their lives.
He also added that it was because of the DPO that they were able to arrest the mobile policeman and two other people,who led them to the place .”
” some workers that were in the site had started work when heavily armed thugs,who were accompanied by about fifteen policemen , invaded the place and started shooting .” Everyone ran into different directions and when the dust settled,the police operatives from Igbogbo came ,he said.
The corpse of the victim who was murdered was recovered by the policemen who were led by the DPO and later deposited at the Ikorodu General Hospital ,while the other injured person’s was taken to the hospital .
It was learnt that the three persons,who were arrested in connection with the incident have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department,Panti for further investigation.
The armed thugs have been identified as :Okappy ,Wakiku alias Omo Jakande ,,Harmony ,Okanlomo and others still at large.
One of the arrested persons ,Seni Keyeolu was however released on health ground as he was said to be suffering from appendicitis .
The policemen and the land grabbers were said to have been contacted by Kameel Dada Refund ,Gbenga Oshin ,Sarafa Dada and Segun Atiba
The command spoke person state police ,Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the incident and added that the state commissioner of police,CP Hakeem Odumosu had directed that the case should be transferred to State CID ,Panti for further investigation.
