OPC Commander Reveals How Thief Working For Police Officer Got Arrested

The general commandant of Odua People’s Congress OPC in Agbado Area of Ogun state, Southwest, Nigeria, Mr. Kunle Ayelumo has disclosed how he arrested Akeem Popoola who claimed that he works for an inspector of police, Festus Omotosho a.k.a Ijaya.

According to Ayelumo, the chairman of OPC in the area Mr. Ogunremi Nojeem who was in a meeting with the national coordinator of OPC Dr. Gani Adams called him around 2:00 pm to inform him that he received a call that a house was burgled at Ijaiye Street, Oke Aro and ordered that the suspect be arrested.

Ayelumo explained further that he went to the house and he was told that the suspect, Akeem Popoola was the one who burgled them, so he organized a search party with other members of OPC to fish him out.

“It took us the whole day to look for him and at about 8:30pm I was informed that he was somewhere around Matogun so I quickly went to that area where I arrested him around 9pm”.

Ayelumo said he wanted to call the police at Ayila that night but Akeem pleaded that he should not call the police but rather they should take him to the police station because according to him, if the police see him they will shoot him so he was kept in the custody of the OPC till the following morning before he was handed over to the Police.

Items recovered from him include two mattresses, 46-inch Plasma television, two speakers, pumping machine and one gas cooker.

Our reporter tried to confirmed the claim of Popoola that he works for an inspector of police but all efforts to get information from the police met a brick wall.
