Operational Grant: Alhaji Owoeye Commends Gov. Dapo Abiodun, Urges beneficiaries to secure the loan for lucrative businesses

The real estate mogul and property owner, Owoeye Nigeria Limited under the administration of Alhaji Mutairu Owoeye has commended the executive governor of Ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun mfr over the operational grants to over 1,500 artisans in the state today 3rd of July, 2023.

 

 

 

 

He urged the beneficiaries across the twenty local governments of Ogun State to ensure they use the grant for a lucrative businesses towards sustainability and self-reliant.

 

 

 

 

The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun has rolled out the N1 Billion Operational Grant for not fewer than 1,500 Micro and Small-Scale Enterprises, selected across all the 20 Local Goverments in the State.

 

 

 

 

Speaking in Abeokuta, during the Enumeration and Vetting Exercise for beneficiaries, the Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, Who also doubles as Chairman Steering Committee for Ogun State COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Programme (OG-CARES), represented by the Project Manager of OG-CARES, Ms. Sola Arobieke, said the main purpose was to cushion the effect of the pandemics on the Micro and Small-Scale business owners.

 

 

 

 

Mr. Okubadejo stated that the initiative was also part of the efforts of Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration to eradicate poverty in the lives of the citizens in the State.

 

 

 

 

Meanwhile, Dapo Okubadejo noted that over 16,000 applications were received from business owners in different trades, across the three Senatorial Districts of the State, revealing that the 1,500 that were captured under the 1st batch would receive the alert within 24 hours.

 

 

 

 

He said, “The exercise has been on for sometimes. The main idea of the N1 Billion grant was to serve as relief from COVID-19 Pandemics for Micro and Small Enterprises in all three Senatorial Districts of Ogun State. The beneficiaries may not necessarily be indigene, but as far as they have a business establishment in the State, they are qualified”.

 

 

 

 

Owoeye commended Prince Dapo Abiodun for the Soul-lifting intervention, the President-General, Market Men and Women Association of Ogun State and Iyaloja-General of Yewaland, Alhaja Oluwayemisi Abass revealed that the generosity of such magnitude was never benefitted from any Governor since the creation of the State.

Furthermore, The Leadership of trade Associations, such as Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI), Association of Small Business Owners of Nigeria (ASBON), Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) and Community Development Councils (CDCs) across the State, applauded the Governor for the giant stride of economic value, adding that he was being sincere with his individual prosperity agenda.

 

 

 

 

 

Benefitting from the grant, Artisans across the 20 Local Goverments Areas of the State and Joint National Association of Persons Living With Disabilities (JONAPWD), congratulated the Governor for the well deserved victory at the last poll, saying the victory was the reward for the better performances of his 1st tenure.

 

 

 

 

In their appreciative notes, Mr. Israel Ariyo, a boutique owner in Ijebu-Ode Local Government, and Olamide Olatunde, owner of Beauty and Cosmetics Shop in Ado-Odo, Ota Local government, posited that the grant would not only help to lessen the burden of obtaining loans from financial institutions, but also make their business to move on faster.

 

 

 

 

 

Also, a photographer from Abeokuta South Local Government Olawummi Okunlola, and Hon. Tairat Adebanjo, a trader from Odogbolu Local Government said the grant would be spent to acquire new gadgets and help them expand their businesses, appreciating the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration for promoting individual prosperity.
