Opinion: A call to order to all Nigerian Youths

My dear Nigerian Youth, I sincerely appreciate and thank God for this precious time of ours; obviously this is the most vital and crucial point of our lives.

At one point or the other, biblical backup gave us the benefit of thought that we can only see God while we are young and youthful.

I recently met my grandmother and while leaving her, what comes to my mind and heart was she will be remembering and having a recap of all her life and obviously all will be like playing a video over and over again.

It is a common fact and act that when we loose someone around us, the obituary will carry the time of birth to the time of death i.e (1805-2000), now have you taken time to ask yourself what the hyphen sign implies; it means the number of things you have done during the course of your existence whether negatively or positively.

The above illustration leave us with the impression that life is short and it is eminent for us to know why we are existing especially at this fragile and delicate time of ours as a Youth.

Nmandi Azikiwe said and I paraphrase ” for any Nation moving forward or backward, check what the Youths are doing” Nigeria is what it is today because we the pillar of the nation has derailed and lost focus on what really matters and clinge unto what what is making us problem to our country, hooliganism, thuggery, theft, fraud, and other vices has been the order of the day.

I am writing this to call us to other , to bring us back to the drawing board, to the path that our forefathers had once thread and their indelible mark is still felt up till Today.

It saddens me to see Youths of likeminds being used as political and social media tools in the hand of rogues and corrupt leaders of ours, the only forum the federal government gave to us is the social media platforms, where they engage us in fight over disparity of political parties, unfortunately we now have association of social media activist, where 70% of Youths dominate all in the name to occupy us with unnecessary activities.

However, I implore us to use this precious and vital point of our lives to effect the much needed change that start and begin from us, from our mindset, let all Youths come together and let’s start talking to ourselves.
