OPINIONS : PRESIDENT BUHARI’S RETURN BROADCAST- Comrade Westo Adekunle Adejumo.

After reading many reactions that followed President Buhari’s return broadcast this morning, I have to extend my disappointed in President Buhari and his government to some social media critics that found no fault in such a weak and watery speech.

Following President Buhari’s long stay in another country for medical checkup / treatment, if all he can present and read to us was such a weak and short watery speech, which only addressed various agitations bothering on restructuring to discountenance Nnamdi Kanu’s IPOB lawlessness and nothing else, then, it is a big shame on us. Unfortunately, some people as rejoicing, celebrating and jubilation over it already.

I have expected President Buhari to use the opportunity to address our less qualitative health care service that kept him away but, nothing was said about it!

I have expected that the state of the economy of the nation that led to recession would be addressed but, nothing was said about it.

I have expected that other equal state matters would be addressed but, all was subsumed.

It is very glaring that Mr. President is still recuperating from his poor health, hence his weak and short watery speech.

It is obvious that President Buhari was not well briefed on all that has happened in the country while he was away, and all the areas of importance for genuine presidential speech has probably been blocked out of his sight.

I can’t continue to imagine and re-read such a hasty speech to impress the citizens that Mr. President is physically fit to resume work without addressing critical national issues. I can’t even accept such as a presidential speech, hell no!

Funny enough, I have argued it initially when this same speech leaked yesterday night, after which it was sent to me by a friend on whatsapp chats, which I later read on different whatsapp platforms that same yesterday night. Only for me to see our president reading it word for word this morning…! Hmmmn! What a professional blunders by the handlers of such speech prior to Mr. President’s address.

Well, since some citizens has seen it as the best they can get from President Buhari, to the extent of declaring a public holiday among several jubilations and excitements, which I can never agree with, I will just conclude with this;

‘it is not a must for President Buhari to continue… If he is ready, he should PERFORM, and if not, he should RESIGN’.
